About Us

Stone Room Concerts began in 2012 as a series of private house concerts. The initial venue was in the basement of a private home, a stone house located in the Seven Corners area of Falls Church and built in 1941.  In 2013, we began booking shows approximately once a month on Sunday nights at Bikenetic, a bicycle shop in Falls Church.  In the fall of 2014, we also began presenting shows at The Falls Church Episcopal church and in 2015 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington.

As of July 31, 2014, Stone Room Concerts was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and has received 501(c)3 nonprofit status with the IRS, also effective as of that date. All shows in public venues will be sponsored by the nonprofit entity, while house concerts will remain private events. Additionally, Stone Room Concerts includes as part of its mission support for charitable causes, including acting as a fiscal sponsor for the Niñas Arriba! college scholarship fund for young women in El Salvador.

We seek to support regionally and nationally known independent musicians and bring their music to our friends and acquaintances in an intimate setting.  Like other house concert series, 100% of all suggested contributions -- $20 unless otherwise noted -- will go to the artists themselves.  However, if you cannot afford the suggested contribution, please give what you can.  We just have a donation jar in the kitchen, and hope for the best!

Occasionally we will outsource our concerts to the homes of friends, in Maryland, DC or Virginia.  We always have more artists than we're able to host, so we're sometimes able to book artists in other, less formal house concert venues. In 2013, we brought six concerts to five different homes in the area, and also helped book an artist with friends in Switzerland!  We bring the chairs, sound system (if needed), and arrange the dates with the artists - you provide the guests.  Folks interested in hosting a house concert should be in touch with David at stoneroomconcerts@gmail.com.

House concerts will normally begin at 8 pm, with the doors open 30 minutes beforehand.  Attendees will be able to reserve their seats on arrival.   BYOB.  An appetizer and dessert are always welcome but not required -- some light refreshments will be provided.

For all practical purposes, the shows at Bikenetic or the Falls Church work just like a house concert, but the environment is, well, different!  Showtimes for these performances vary, so be sure to check the specific times on this website.

To reserve seats for any of our upcoming house concerts, please send us your name(s), email, and phone number(s), as well as the same information for each of your guests. Be sure to indicate the total number of seats you would like. We will acknowledge your request as soon as possible and will let you know whether sufficient seats are still available.  Send your request to David at stoneroomconcerts@gmail.com

Several days before the concert, we will email each of our confirmed guests all of the details, including directions. We will also appreciate it if you can let us know if you have to cancel a reservation, so that we can make room for others.
