About Us
Stone Room Concerts began in 2012 as a series of private house concerts. The initial venue was in the basement of a private home, a stone house located in the Seven Corners area of Falls Church and built in 1941. From 2013-2016, we held shows approximately once a month on Sunday nights at Bikenetic, a bicycle shop in Falls Church. Since the fall of 2014, we also began presenting shows in collaboration with The Falls Church Episcopal church.
As of July 31, 2014, Stone Room Concerts was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and has received 501(c)3 nonprofit status with the IRS, also effective as of that date. All shows in public venues will be sponsored by the nonprofit entity, while house concerts will remain private events. We have a Silver Seal of Transparency from Guidestar.
Additionally, Stone Room Concerts includes as part of its mission support for charitable causes, including acting as a fiscal sponsor for the Niñas Arriba! college scholarship fund for young women in El Salvador. (Click here to make a zero-fee donation.)
We seek to support regionally and nationally known independent musicians and bring their music to our friends and acquaintances in an intimate setting. Like other house concert series, 100% of all suggested contributions -- $25 unless otherwise noted -- will go to the artists themselves. However, if you cannot afford the suggested contribution, please give what you can. We just have a donation jar in the kitchen, and hope for the best!
